The AGM of the Drascombe Association took place in Bristol on Saturday 10th March 2007. A full report and minutes will appear in the next DAN.
The highlight of the meeting was a presentation to Luke Churchouse to mark his retirement as Secretary of the Association. Luke has been associated with Drascombes for many years. As a director of the original Honnor Marine in Totnes he was instrumental in setting up manufacture of the Lugger and other Drascombes in GRP. He formed the Drascombe Association in 1987 and has been the Secretary ever since. For the first 15 years he produced the Drascombe Association Newsletter four times a year, and he also acted as Membership Secretary until 2006. It is fair to say that without him the Drascombe Association would not have existed.
To mark his retirement, the Association presented Luke,
who reaches his 80th birthday this year, with a superb model of a Drascombe
Lugger. He has now been appointed President of the Drascombe Association.
