ARCTIC DRIFTER 2001 - PROGRESS REPORT 16/08/01

We are still in Bodo and there is a gale F 8 expected tomorrow from the SW. We have spent the day looking for a winter home for Arctic Drifter, after an early lead fell through. The tide line has not been so bountiful this year so Bob had to buy wood for the tarpaulin framework and cabin door [hole through it to take the spars]. On return he immediately found a 14 foot piece of 5 x 3 floating in the harbour. We could have saved the taxi driver an awful lot of bother.

Fortune has sent us Herman Hansson's phone number , and it looks as though he may be able to help out. He has even gone to the trouble of visiting us this evening within an hour of our call. Herman runs Arctic Circle Yachting AS P.O.BOX 738, N-8001 Bodoe Tlf. +47 75 50 64 24 - Fax +47 75 50 64 21 e-mail: info@arcticyacht.com www.arcticyacht.com

It occurs to us that whilst a Drascombe rally might have relatively few attenders at this latitude, perhaps a group of members might consider a charter? Sorry, we are not offering to organise it [Arctic Drifter would be miffed], but we will give you all the advice we can. This email comes to you from Dolly Dimple's Pizza Parlour where the beer is £3.00 per 33cl and the pizza is excellent. Never mind, the liver has had a good holiday. Time to tighten the springs!
