These are pictures of the revised hatch in my Coaster. The hatch is curved, very heavily built and is sized to fit, along with the companionway boards in the "window sill." The hatch is inserted before the top board and slides forward to allow the placement of this board. The hatch has a metal hasp which slides through the top board when the hatch is pulled aft, allowing the lock to be placed. This modification was done two owners ago so I benefit from some serious planning and craftsmanship. Perhaps some other Coaster owners would be interested in this setup.
