Granton Rally - June 8th-9th

This was our first rally in Granton on the Forth. Five boats took part, mostly local. We had to launch at lunchtime due to the tides and sailed with wind and tide to Cramond island, successfully passing through the narrow gap in the dragon's teeth which are former anti-submarine defences. After a late lunch on the beach in almost Mediterranean conditions we were faced with a return into a NE wind enhanced by a sea breeze and although the tide turned in our favour the wind over tide led to big waves. Nevertheless, all returned safely.
